excuse us, but where has 2024 gone? we’ve barely blinked and november’s rolled in like the san francisco fog — abruptly appearing and upending all fairweather follies. and yet suddenly, all signs say we must settle in for the calendar’s crescendo. let’s strap ourselves in, as we sift through the endless array of holiday gift guides, plan feasts we’ll regret the day after, soothe our election exhaustion and still somehow, some way have some fun.
“the month of november makes me feel that life is passing more quickly. in an effort to slow it down, i try to fill the hours more meaningfully.” – henry rollins
of course, leave it to a real punk to speak real wisdom. he’s right, of course, and we are prepared to do so, with an autumnal avalanche of art, cocktails, music, food and more. oh, and cocktails. can’t forget those. behold, a harvested bounty of fixations for november.
are 29 November days not enough? like the legend cher, turn back time with our october fixations.

touch
cold november rain is more than an 80s power rock ballad. it’s real; a cruel hand we are dealt as compensation for next year’s abundance. it’s nature’s prepaid calling card. but if we must endure it, let’s be shielded with these three perfect parapluies.
behold a bevvy of brollies. and yes, we need them all.
gucci for the fashion, of course. be mad for plaid.
pasotti for the whimsy. and the drama.
moma for the colours. and the patterns. how familiar.
but, why the umbrellas, you ask? it’s obvious: we have to keep this dry, bien sur.
taste
cocktail party season commenceth, and we are prepared with our five fixation-worthy cocktails, all with a pre-holiday palate; call it a heady harvest. ps: we need this, obvi (because shaking and shagreen sound good together.)
apple cider mimosa
mulled pear and cranberry punch
pomegranate spritz
mott and mulberry
pear tree martini
and for those traditionalists, we, too, count the days to the annual beaujolais nouveau unveiling and alas, it is upon us. november isn’t so bad after all.
oh, you may want something solid, n’est-ce pas? understood. for the new yorkers begging for beluga, may we suggest caviar service?
