we’ve always thought it harsh watching as the world suddenly and abruptly ceases summering on labor day. on that first monday of the ninth month, it’s as if everything changes: white goes from vogue to verboten and wardrobes shift from colourful to cashmere. but summer sun shines (albeit shyer) for three more weeks, thank you very much, and we intend to milk it as much as (if not more than) a barista making that latte. why? there is much ado about everything (also, we won’t be putting these away any time soon).

we welcome september with a kind of unabashed anticipation usually reserved for children at christmas. it’s the fashion, darling; the fashion. it goes without saying fashion weeks are the highlight of our year. after all, design’s interconnectedness knows no medium, and we intend to draw inspiration (not to mention a large credit card balance) from this year’s shows. follow along with us:

new york: 6-11 september
london: 13-17 september
milan: 17-23 september
paris: 23 september - 1 october

you’d think the shows and runway recaps would be enough to fuel our fix this month; however, you’d be as wrong as that barista. behold, our final summer fixations.

still astounded by august’s assemblage? revisit our fixations from last month.

smell

balmain enters the fragrance fold with its premier parfums: les éternels de balmain.

and every dog now has more than just its day: introducing dolce & gabbana: fefe, fido’s first fragrance.

taste

it’s the change of seasonal bounty that betrays our prolonged summer; however, zucchini (née: courgettes) are everywhere, so we plan to savour this for three meals a day all month long.

and as autumn approacheth, opinions are divided on the definitive “in” list for food, but our fave warming wonder made the grade: we’re committing to katsudon. so should you.

read

fellow fictionphiles, let’s have an intermezzo. it’s the latest tome from sally rooney (who we fell in love with thanks to normal people, a must read with a must watch film).

the debut publication by design/architectural firm ashe leandro is a lookbook of interiors that make for sublime september swooning, coffee table style.
